I’ve been having massive problems with my webhosting recently. A few years ago I chose 2mhost (I refuse to link to them) because they were the cheapest. They’re still probably the cheapest, but I really can’t afford to have the downtime that I’ve been receiving from them recently, so I’m moving.
The site could have a few extra features, and the design isn’t ‘all that’, but it did the job.
To get a guage of the legitimacy of the site, I looked for 2mhost and found it. It received 2.66 out of 10 as an average score. I added a suitably negative review to the eleven that were there before me.
So, I looked through their top ten and ended up going for numero uno, LunarPages.
Now, before I get too far along, I want to say one thing for clarity. LunarPages has an affiliate program, so I get money when people sign up through that link (and the ones on the sidebar). The hosting was reasonably expensive (paid for 24 months up front) so I don’t really have any problems with this. If I find the service is less than 100% positive, then I will say so, and remove my advertising of this service.
Anyway, according to 40 of the 42 reviewers of LunarPages, the service is hot stuff. It got 9.54 out of 10.
I’ve been crying out for more space than the 50mb I had at 2mhost, so I’m over the moon at the 1000mb I now have. What’s more, if you use up your 1000mb, they’ll give you more space incrementally right up to 4gb. Nice.
So I guess that’s it for the moment. If you notice outages over the next week or so, please accept my apologies, they should ultimately be a thing of the past.
