It’s being heavily commented, but this month’s transition to September PS+ content in the PAL countries is a bit of a shambles.

I myself have experienced the missing content.

At the moment, what you have to do is to find each individual game in the store and download it from there.

For Sam & Max, you have to get the trial from the demo’s section for Episode 1 and Episode 5 from the ‘latest’ section as well as all the episodes 2-4 and the unlock from the game’s own section.

Hopefully they get this sorted soon and remove the need for this workaround.

So, I’m actually really enjoying my Playstation Plus subscription. I suppose you’re pretty much in bonus territory when you sign up for the two games you get in month 1.

The content for month 3 (1 September to 30th September 2010) has been announced.

Games
Sam and Max: Devil’s Playground (entire season)
Vector Tower Defense (minis)
Echoes (minis)
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee (PS one Classic)

Full Game Trials
Warhawk (Plus exclusive 50% discount for Plus members on purchase)
Inferno Pool

Special Offers
LittleBigPlanet: Ico and Shadow of Colossus costume pack – 50%
Metal Gear Solid (PS one Classic) – 50%

PixelJunk Shooter – 20%

Premium Game Downloads
Exclusive UFC Undisputed 2010 downloads

Dynamic themes and Premium Avatars

Exclusive PlayStation Move theme
Exclusive Fish Tank theme
EyePet Blue Goalie Avatar
EyePet DJ Avatar

I’m pretty stoked about the full game downloads.  I was intrigued by Sam & Max when I last played it back in 2006 and an entire season seems like excellent value.  It also suits my ultra-casual gaming habit.  I also happen to love tower defense games and this one reviewed well.

PS+ continues to not be for everyone, but having sunk my money in, I’m still glad I did.

I saw a google advertisement this morning on one of my favorite technology blogs for 100mb monthly data allowance on prepay for $10 from Vodafone. This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.

For those of you with data capable phones, you’ll be aware that Vodafone put in a great offer on prepay for 10mb for $1 on a daily basis.

However what annoyed me was that most days I don’t need 10mb, I might just want to check my emails (maybe 0.5mb) and sync my outlook calendar (0.5mb) but I still have to pay the $1.  Over a month that adds up to $30 which is not reasonable for the amount I would be using it (based on that I would be using just 10% of my allowance).

So, you can understand why I am stoked to find Vodafone giving me 100mb (instead of 300mb) for $10 instead of $30. Hopefully this is just the start.

In huge news for New Zealand developer Sidhe Interactive (pronounced “she” interactive), Gripshift, their original IP game for the PSP is going to be available on the PS3 through the Playstation Online network.

The game received mixed reviews, but was reasonably high profile for an original game from a small kiwi outfit. They’ve also made Rugby League, Rugby League 2 and horse racing game, Melbourne Cup Challenge (aka Frank Dettori racing). They’re also working on the Jackass game.

I’m quite certain that Gripshift won’t be for everyone, however it will have it’s fans, and hopefully the respective online arenas for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 will be a great outlet for quality New Zealand made games, which often struggle to get to market.

You may also be interested in checking this video from a current affairs show in New Zealand. It focusses mostly on Melbourne Cup Challenge and the Jackass game, but also has some shots of Gripshift.
